 This elegant and roomy silk tote bag has pockets inside and out. The large outside pocket features a picot-edged bow on the center and a shell-smocked fabric band trimming the top. You may choose to smock the sides of the pocket or leave them plain. In the first class you'll create the bow and embellish it with silk ribbon roses, learn shell smocking on a fabric ribbon. After completing the handwork at home, the second class will focus on the bag construction. (Note: this is not a smocking class; if you choose to smock the side panels you must be familiar with the basic smocking stitches.)
